Seven Grams is an augmented reality project I directed that brings the hidden human cost behind our smartphones into sharp focus. Designed as a mobile app, it tells the story of the Congolese miners who extract the essential metals powering our devices—often under harsh and exploitative conditions. By merging powerful journalism, photorealistic 3D storytelling, and cutting-edge AR technology, Seven Grams offers users a visceral, interactive experience that reveals the invisible connections between consumer technology and distant suffering. Produced by Chloé Jarry of Lucid Realities, and co-produced by France Télévisions and PBS POV | AmDoc in the USA, the project premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022. It was awarded the Crystal Owl Award for Augmented Reality Experience of the Year at Stereopsia 2022 in Brussels, and won Best Digital Storytelling at FIPADOC 2022 in Biarritz.
